Water-Ring Vacuum Pumps are a type of pump available in a wide range of specifications and models, with extensive applications. To effectively improve their operational stability and efficiency, it is essential to master the correct operating procedures.
1. Preparatory work. Place the water-ring vacuum pump horizontally on a workbench. When using it for the first time, open the water tank lid and fill it with clean, cool water (water may also be added via the drain hose). Stop adding water when the water level is about to reach the point just below the overflow spout at the rear of the tank; no further water needs to be added for subsequent start-ups. Change the water at least once a week; if the water is heavily contaminated or the pump is used frequently, the interval between water changes should be shortened to maintain the cleanliness of the water in the tank.

2. Vacuuming operation. Securely connect the suction hose from the equipment requiring vacuuming to the pump’s suction port. Close the circulation valve, connect the power supply, and switch on the power to commence the vacuuming operation. The vacuum level can be monitored via the vacuum gauge corresponding to the suction port.
3. When the multi-purpose vacuum pump is required to operate continuously for extended periods, the water temperature in the tank will rise, affecting the vacuum level. In this case, connect the drain hose to a water source (tap water), use the overflow outlet as the drain outlet, and regulate the tap water flow appropriately to prevent the water temperature in the tank from rising, thereby maintaining a stable vacuum level.
4. When it is necessary to supply cooling circulating water to a reaction vessel, proceed as described in point 3 above. Connect the inlet and outlet pipes of the vessel requiring cooling to the circulating water outlet and inlet ports at the rear of the unit respectively. Turn the circulating water switch to the ‘ON’ position to supply the circulating cooling water.
Mastering the correct operating procedures for the water-ring vacuum pump not only ensures stable operation but also effectively extends the service life of the equipment and reduces the incidence of faults.
